The Piano Covers Album

John Watson is a UK singer, pianist, keyboard player and songwriter. He is popular on the London scene and has performed at top venues worldwide with artists that include Leee John, Mica Paris and Sister Sledge. John has recorded several albums and EPs, composed theme music for the BBC and independent broadcasters and was recently commissioned to compose the company song for an international furniture company. During lockdown, John was one of the featured musicians on the #64BigBandProject - a music video charity project by the team at SixtyFour Music to raise funding for Médecins Sans Frontières and also performed on several livestream shows including Woodbridge Festival 2020 Lockdown with Leee John raising money for #SaveOurVenues.

'The Piano Covers Album' features 15 solo piano tracks arranged and performed by John Watson ranging from famous film songs such as 'Shallow' from 'A Star Is Born' and 'A Million Dreams' from 'The Greatest Showman' to recent hits such as Adele's 'Easy On Me' and Ed Sheeran's 'The Joker And The Queen'. Also included are John's renditions of some classic soul songs such as Roberta Flack's 'Killing Me Softly With His Song' and Mariah Carey's 'Hero' not forgetting the Disney songs 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'A Whole New World'. John was inspired to record this album by the fans who requested these songs and wanted to experience the feel of his live performances at home, at work or on the move. Therefore, John approached the studio recording sessions as if he was in front of a live audience to capture the full emotional range of each performance and, of course, the full dynamic range of the piano.
