John Watson is a UK singer, pianist, keyboard player and songwriter. He is popular on the London scene both as a solo artist and with his jazz trio and has performed at top venues worldwide with artists that include Leee John, Mica Paris and Sister Sledge. John has recorded several albums, composed theme music for the BBC and independent broadcasters and was recently commissioned to compose the company song for an international furniture company. John is also a dedicated church musician and worship leader.

'New Star' features four of John's original Christmas songs to really get you in the spirit of the season. The EP draws on the tradition of all those famous Christmas songs and carols passed down through the years but with some contemporary touches such as the Trap beat subtly woven into the track 'Jesus Emmanuel'. In contrast, 'Mary, God Has Chosen You' has a simple but dramatic piano/vocal arrangement. The title track 'New Star' was originally part of a rock nativity John composed for the youth group at one of his churches but always stood out as the main song.
